Police are hoping members of the public can help reunite a dog with its owner after the dog was stolen during a burglary.

Lily, a Staffordshire Bull Terrier, was taken after someone went into her home in Toward Road between 10am and 11.20am on Thurdsay, April 6. Lily's owner had left her while she visited a friend but when she returned she found someone had been into the house and taken the brindle staff.

Lily has a small scar on the back of her front right leg.

Officers are carrying out enquiries and appealing for witnesses. Anyone who has information about where Lily is or about the burglary is asked to contact Northumbria Police on 101 quoting reference 325 060417 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
