Racially aggravated assault in Kenton Bar

Police are appealing for witnesses following a report of a racially aggravated assault in Kenton Bar.

At around 6.15pm on Wednesday, 3 May, a 17 year old male was walking past shops on Mallowburn Crescent when he was approach from behind by the alleged offender, who then struck him to the head using a stone. The victim was left with a cut to the head.

The offender is described as a white male,17-18 years old, around 5'8 to 6' tall with short hair. He was wearing a royal blue coloured tracksuit.

A number of people are believed to have been in the area at the time, and police are urging witnesses to come forward. Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 using reference number 050324U/17 or call the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
