New officers join Alnwick neighbourhood team

Alnwick neighbourhood policing team has just been boosted by two new officers.
PC Stuart Bruce now covers Rural Alnwick including Shilbottle, Felton, Longhaughton, Embleton, Craster, Newton by the Sea, Rock, Denwick and Rennington areas. Stu has over 26 years of experience, having worked in Sunderland, Washington, Newcastle, Training Department and Quality Standards.
He is keen to get to know local people who live and work in these areas. Amongst Stu’s responsibilities are Community Speed Watch, Farm Watch and tackling rural Crime. In his role PC Bruce is also directly involved in local problem solving and safeguarding vulnerable members of the community.
PC Rob Dobson takes over as the new Alnwick Town Neighbourhood officer. He has nearly 15 years service as a police officer, and first joined the force as a member of police staff where he spent three years in an administrative role. Rob has worked across Newcastle City Centre, Newcastle North, Ashington, Cramlington and Amble. Amongst his new responsibilities Rob will be making regular contact within the Duchess Community High School, link in with Alnwick Pub Watch and Shop Watch, and be directly involved in local problem solving and safeguarding initiatives
The officers will work closely with their respective team members CSO Kevin Simpson who also covers Rural Alnwick and CSO Katie Gerrard who covers Alnwick Town.
Neighbourhood Sergeant Sharon Wilmore-Greaves, from Alnwick & Rothbury, has welcomed the two new members to the Alnwick Team.
She said: "I’m delighted to have two new officers join our team here in Alnwick.
"I know our new officers will be well received by local people as our close knit communities take a keen interest in their local police. Our neighbourhood officers will also make it their business to get out and about to meet residents and business people as they get to know their new beat areas.
"We have a lot of people who in the community who volunteer and get involved with Farm Watch, Community Speed Watch and other schemes. Our new team members will be actively encouraging new people to join in and volunteer, if they can.
