Appeal after robbery in Newcastle city centre

Police are appealing for information after a robbery in Newcastle city centre.

At around 12.40pm last Thursday (June 8) afternoon police received a report that a 22-year-old Vietnamese student had been robbed on Blackfriars Court.

He had been stood in the area next to his grey Honda Civic when three men approached him and assaulted him.

They then stole bags out of the open boot of his vehicle which contained clothing and a quantity of cash before fleeing the area in a black Ford Focus driven by a fourth man.

The victim only suffered minor injuries during the robbery but he was clearly very distressed.

An investigation to identify those responsible is ongoing and police are now appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

The offenders are all described as Asian and aged in their late 20s. Full descriptions are:

- The first male is described as being around 5ft10in tall, of stocky build and wearing a black adidas tracksuit.

- The second male is described as being around 6ft tall, of stocky build and wearing a grey hooded top, a grey 'CP Company' hat and sunglasses

- The third male is described as being around 6ft tall, of slim build and wearing a grey adidas tracksuit with a black body warmer over the top.

- The male driver of the Ford Focus is described as Asian, aged in his late 20s with black hair and a black beard.
