Police appeal after theft in Jarrow

Police are appealing for information after a woman's father's ashes were stolen in a burglary at her home.

The burglary happened between 6.30pm on Friday, March 24 and 8.45pm on Wednesday, March 29 in Ravensworth Terrace in Jarrow.

A number of items were stolen during the burgarly including a blue urn containing the ashes of the victim's father. Piggy banks, china dolls, a laptop and cash were also stolen.

Officers are carrying out enquiries and appealing for information.
