Further appeal after bogus caller incident in South Shields

Police are appealing for witnesses after a bogus caller incident in South Tyneside. 

Yesterday (Wednesday, June 28), police issued a warning after two bogus caller incidents in the borough, now police have released a description of the man believed to be involved in one of the incidents. 

At around 8pm on Tuesday, June 27, a man knocked on a door in Ada Street in South Shields. The man duped his way into the property by claiming to be a window cleaner. After the man had left the occupant noticed money was missing. 

The man is described as white, 30 to 40 yeras old, unshaven, skinny build, around 5ft 9 inches tall with ginger hair. 

Residents are reminded to be vigilant to anyone who calls at the door unnanounced and contact police if they are in any doubt.
