Fire in Washington treated as arson

Police are appealing for information after a house was set on fire in Washington.

The fire happened at 1.30am this morning in Bamburgh Close in Oxclose.

It's believe the fire was started deliberately and was started after an accelerant was put through the letter box. 

There were three people, two adults and a child, in the house at the time. They managed to escape uninjured.

The fire is being treated as arson and police are appealing for witnesses.
