Woman robbed in Newcastle

Police are appealing for witnesses after a 32 year old woman was robbed in Newcastle. 

The Robbery happened on the path that is parallel to the coast road between King Edward Road and Armstrong Avenue in Newcastle around 8.30pm last night (Friday, October 13). She was approached by a man who threatened her and demanded her purse. He made off with her rucksack, containing her purse. The rucksack was found nearby without the purse. 

The woman was not injured in the incident. 

The suspect is described as white, 5’7" tall, slight build and in his late teens. He was wearing a grey coloured hoody and grey tracksuit bottoms. 

It is thought he had an accomplice acting as look out nearby, its believed this male was on a small bike, possibly a BMX, and standing with another bike. Both males made off in the direction of Heaton Road.
