Police assisting with escort of abnormal load

Northumbria Police Motor Patrols are assisting with the escort of an abnormal load over the next few days.
The load is over 6.5 metres high and weighs 200 tonnes and will leave Blenkinsop layby on the A69 today, October 31st, at 10am. From there it will go east travelling on the A6079 and the B6318 Military Road.
Tomorrow, November 1st, it will be on the roads from 10pm and will continue to travel on the B6318 Military Road, the B6528 through Throckley, the B6324 Stamfordham Road and a section of the A1 until the Gosforth Park exit and finally the A1056 Sandy Lane.
Thursday November 2nd, it will be departing at 10pm and will travel on the B1319 Great Lime Road and is travelling to South Harbour, Blyth mainly via the A189 and A1061.
There will be some delays on the roads as a result and motorists are advised to use an alternate route.
