As Santa puts the finishes touches to his Christmas plans police in the North East are compiling a naughty list of their own - the most wanted people in the region.

For the second year in a row officers in Central Area Command will run 'Operation Yuletide' this month which will look to target individuals wanted for crimes including assault, burglary, affray and breach of bail.

Those on the 'Naughty List' are all being pro-actively sought by officers but now their details are being released to the public - so they can be arrested before Christmas Day.

All the suspects are wanted in connection with offences in Newcastle and Gateshead.

Their images were released in the Newcastle Chronicle yesterday and that has already led to the arrest of two of the suspects on the list.

The 'Naughty list' includes...

1) Paul Forster, 33, of Aycliffe Crescent, Gateshead, is wanted in connection with a section 18 assault in Gateshead on October 6.

2) Peter Fothergill, 37, of Lily Close, Balydon, is wanted in connection with a burglary on Farndale Road in Newcastle on November 20.

3) Robert Boyle, 48, of Avon Street, Newcastle, is wanted for a breach of bail after being arrested for a fraud offence.

10) Tyler Duncan, 21, of Clive Place, Byker, is wanted in connection with an affray on Shields Road in Byker on October 24.

11) Andrew Kane, 34, of Bentinck Terrace, Newcastle, is wanted in connection with a burglary in Newcastle on December 7. ARRESTED.

12) John Kane, 40, of Clive Place, Felling, is also wanted in connection with a burglary in Newcastle on December 7. ARRESTED.

Detective Chief inspector Paul Knox said: "Last year Operation Yuletide was a huge success and we manage to put many of those on our naughty list behind bars in time for Christmas.

"The Evening Chronicle were vital in the success of that operation and we are delighted they are helping us once again to help locate some of the most wanted people in our region.

"All of those on our 'Naughty List' are wanted in connection with really serious offences in Newcastle and Gateshead and they have ignored all of our attempts to speak to them.

"Now we hope that the public can help with our enquiries. Take a look at the images and if you have any information that could help us locate them then please ring us or Crimestoppers and pass it on.

"We want these people arrested before Christmas and we are looking to our communities for help in making this happen. Any information could help, so please pick up the phone and help us make this Christmas a merry one."

Anyone with any information into any of the people involved in 'Operation Yuletide' is asked to contact police on 101 quoting 'Operation Yuletide' or by texting secure police number 07786 200 814.

Or, people can ring the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 and pass information on to them completely anonymously.
