Appeal after suspicious behaviour in Newcastle park

Police are appealing for information after a woman was threatened walking through a Newcastle park.

Just before 10pm on Tuesday evening a woman reported that she was walking through Exhibition Park in the city centre.

She walked past a man who then stopped the woman and threatened her. She then left the park.

Enquiries to identify the man are ongoing but police are now appealing for anyone with information about the man in question to get in touch.

He is described as white, aged in his late 20s to early 30s, around 6ft tall, muscular build and a local accent.

The man was wearing a black bomber jacket with the hood up covering a baseball cap and black tracksuit bottoms.

Extra officers have been in the park since the incident to carry out enquiries to identify the man in question.

The man, or anyone who knows who he is or who saw him in the park on Tuesday, should call police on 101 quoting log 1132 19/12/17.
