Police escort for a Fire Service convoy

Today, Northumbria Police will be helping escort a Fire Service convoy as they test the mobilisation of their Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) team.

A blue light convoy consisting of four large fire service vehicles will be leaving their headquarters at Barmston, Washington around 10am under police escort.

The convoy will travel east on the A1231 before joining the A19 Southbound.

Once at Dalton Park Northumbria police will be handing over the escort to Durham and Cleveland Specialist Operations Unit for the remainder of the escort.

It is anticipated that the convoy should take around 45 minutes.
