Northumbria Police are participating in the College Of Policing Direct Entry Programme, and are welcoming applicants at Inspector level.

The Direct Entry programme is about giving those already in a leadership position the opportunity to join the police service so they can bring new ideas and new ways of thinking into the organisation.

Tara Smyth, People Development Manager at Northumbria Police, said: “The Direct Entry programme is a great way to join the police. The scheme provides 18-24 months of training, and members receive coaching and mentoring throughout so they are fully equipped with the skills they need.

“We look forward to welcoming applicants interested in joining Northumbria Police.”

As one of the biggest forces in England we cover a vast and diverse area that has some really interesting challenges. Joining our Force as an Inspector would be the perfect challenge for someone with leadership experience who is looking for something new.
