A cannabis farm and some Class A drugs have been seized after warrants were executed in Gateshead at the weekend.
On Friday morning police seized a small amount of Class A drugs after executing a warrant at an address on Woodside Terrace in Chopwell.
A second warrant was executed on Sunday at an address on Linden Road in Blaydon where 23 cannabis plants were seized and destroyed.
Another 23 baby plants were also seized by officers from the Gateshead West Neighbourhood Policing Team who carried out the operation.
Two men have been assisting police with their enquiries following the execution of the warrants at both addresses.
Neighbourhood Inspector Ronnie Lowes says the activity is a continuation of a crackdown on illegal drugs in Gateshead as part of Operation Red Kite.
He said: "The activity at the weekend is part of a larger strategy to reduce the amount of illegal drugs on the streets of Gateshead.
"Not only are the drugs themselves illegal but the associated crime that comes with drug use can have a huge impact on local communities.
"A large part of Operation Red Kite is responding to intelligence that comes from local residents who often call us to report their concerns.
"By working together with local people and our partners we can make the area a safer and more pleasant place for residents.
"We would ask people to help us to make that happen by calling us when they do see any suspicious activity."
