The North Shields Neighbourhood Policing Team invites you to join their ‘Walk of Kindness’ on Thursday (17 May 2018) in support of Mental Health Action Week.

Local neighbourhood officers are working in partnership with a number of local statutory and voluntary agencies to take time to support others and break down barriers around access to services.

In partnership with These Girls Can Run, Victims First, Meadow Well Connected, the coastal walk has been organised so members of the local community, officers and partners can make time to consider their own wellbeing and support others.

Neighbourhood Sergeant Guy Morgan for North Shields and Whitley Bay said:

“This event is a great way to raise awareness around mental health, encouraging people to take time out and share their own experiences.

“We’re proud to be supporting North Tyneside Mental Health Action Week 2018 and would love to have members of the local community and beyond to join us if they can.

Anyone from the community is welcome to attend the event – coffee and cake will be on offer too.

The walk will start at 9.30am from Meadow Well Connected, North Shields, NE29 6BA. The group will then continue along the coast, finishing at The VIEW, Grand Parade, Longsands Beach, Tynemouth, NE30 4JA.

You can view a map of the route here:

Participants are welcome to join or leave the walk at any of the identified points along the way.

Support services attending the event include: North Tyneside Community Protection Team, YMCA, Jobcentre, AGE UK, and others.

Mental Health Awareness Week takes place between 14 and 20 May 2018.
