Anti-social behaviour in Racecourse Estate, Gateshead

Anti Social Behaviour - We Did

  • Additional police patrols have been allocated to this area and the Police Mobile Community Van has been deployed to provide a Highly Visible presence in the estate. Positive action is being taken when dealing with this type of incident.

 

  • Identified youths are being challenged regarding their behaviour and their parents are being advised accordingly.

 

  • Neighbourhood teams are re-contacting victims of anti-social behaviour to provide reassurance and identify repeat or vulnerable victims. Acceptable Behaviour Agreements will be considered against those causing anti-social behaviour.

 

  • We are working closely with our partners such as  The Gateshead Housing Company and Anti Social Behaviour Team to take positive action against any offenders identified with a view to Tenancy Enforcement and Anti Social Behaviour Legislation.

 

  • Safeguarding actions are being taken to support any individuals who are believed to be particularly at risk.

  •  Direction to Leave notices are being issued to those causing disorder while under the influence of alcohol. We will also take specific action around alcohol related crime and disorder.

 

  • Results of our efforts are being passed to Partners for onward distribution throughout the community.

Anti-social behaviour in Whickham and Swalwell.

Anti Social Behaviour - We Did

  • Additional police patrols have been allocated to this area. Positive action is being taken when dealing with this type of incident.

 

  • Neighbourhood teams are re-contacting victims of anti-social behaviour to provide reassurance and identify repeat or vulnerable victims. Acceptable Behaviour Agreements will be considered against those causing anti-social behaviour.

 

  • Two individuals have had restrictions placed on their movements with stringent bail conditions. One individual has recently received a custodial sentence.

 

  •  Tenancy enforcement visits will also be made to the home addresses of those responsible.

 

  • We are liaising with Gateshead Council Neighbourhood Managers to combat litter and disorder. Offenders have been targeted. Two suspects have been identified as being a particular problem and anti-social behaviour orders are being applied for through the courts.

 

  • We ran Operation WAYS with our partners which identifies the issues that matter to the residents.  We have addressed the most important issues and reported back to the residents.

 

  • We are currently applying for anti social behaviour orders for 2 individuals who have caused a substantial amount of crime and disorder in the area.

 

  • We are currently creating a Community Alcohol Partnership to address alcohol abuse in the area.
