We have concerns about anti-social behaviour on the Meadowell Estate

Anti-Social Behaviour - We Did

  • Neighbour Officers have taken details of anyone involved in anti-social behaviour and where appropriate have taken tenancy enforcement action in conjunction with housing providers.
  • Neighbour Officers used new dispersal powers which enabled them to ban individuals from the area. 
  • Neighbour Officers seized a large quantity of alcohol from those involved.
  • Neighbour Officers and North Tyneside Council Officers visited the home addresses of those who were involved in anti-social behaviour. 
  • Police and Partners attended the World Cafe event to seek views from residents on what improvements they would like to see carried out.

Anti-Social Behaviour - You Said

There has been an increase in anti-social behaviour on the Chirton Grange Estate particularly around the reservoir and Tamar Close.

Anti-Social Behaviour - We Did

  • Neighbourhood teams have re-contacted victims to obtain descriptions of the youths committing anti-social behaviour. 
  • North Tyneside Council Safer Estates Team and the Neighbourhood Policing Team visited the home addresses of those who have been involved in anti-social behaviour.
  • Neighbourhood Officers have taken details of anyone causing anti-social behaviour and where appropriate will take tenancy enforcement action in conjunction with housing providers.
  • Neighbourhood Officers used new dispersal powers which enable them to ban an individual from the area for up to 48 hours.

There has been an increase in crime and disorder and drug taking in North Shields town centre.

Anti-Social Behaviour - We Did

  • We utilised dispersal powers to remove persons from the area.

  • Police Community Support Officers have carried out extra cycle patrols in the area.
  • Police visibility has been increased in the area at key times. 
  • Positive action is being taken when dealing with incidents reported by members of the public.
