The following Neighbourhood priorities relate to your area:

1.October 2018 Anti Social Behaviour

"What you told us"

Ashington Town Centre has seen an increase in anti-social behaviour particularly in the areas of the new Leisure Centre, McDonalds, ASDA, and Wansbeck Square and Wilkos Car Park. Youths congregate in groups in these locations resulting in an increase in anti-social behaviour. 

"What we are doing about it?"

Ashington Neighbourhood Policing Team is tackling this issue by way of increased high visibility patrols, implementation of a dispersal order and by working with partners to educate local youths.

We will continue to update the website on a regular basis with incidents of note or incidents which would benefit from wider public awareness.

2. October 2018 - Operation Dignity

 "What you told us" 

Ashington’s Hirst Park saw an increase in assaults and general ASB in the area of the park.

"What we are doing about it?"

Ashington Neighbourhood policing team have identified the offenders, worked on diversion tactics with partner agencies, conducted high visibility patrols, held an engagement day with partnership agencies, utilised Special Constables from within our community as well as holding Ashington’s first Emergency services day.

Social media utilised, community drop-ins, Neighbourhood watch co-ordinators informed and local website updated.

 

 

3. October 2018 - Theft from Motor Vehicles

"What you told us"

Reported increase of thefts from unattended motor vehicles in the Hirst area of Ashington.

"What we doing about it"

Extensive House to house and CCTV enquiries and as well as crime prevention work.

"Keeping you informed"

All victims of crime are contacted regularly, social media utilised, community drop-ins, Neighbourhood Watch co-ordinators informed and local website updated.
