Neighbourhood Priorities

The following Neighbourhood priorities relate to your area:

1. Anti Social Behaviour - Concord and Sulgrave

“What you told us”

  • We have received increased reports of the anti social use of motor vehicles across Washington.  This includes reports of speeding, off road bikes and waste spillages from vehicles in the Pattinson Road area.

“What are we doing about it?”

  • Community Speedwatch is now underway in Washington with community volunteers.  The speedwatch scheme has been used in a variety of locations to promote road safety and to identify those drivers who disregard the speed limits.

  • Community speedwatch will continue to run and if you wish to become a speedwatch volunteer please contact PC 2310 Bellamy via the "101" number.

  •  The police / environment agency are working with local businesses to try and resolve and improve issues around waste management within the locality.

“Keeping you informed”

  • The Neighbourhood Policing Team will keep the community updated through Partners and Communities Together (PACT) meetings held every 5 weeks. For more information please check the meetings section on the website.

2. Criminal Damage to Motor Vehicles - Washington area

“What you told us”

  • Washington has seen an increase in commercial Burglaries within the Pattinson, Swan, Crowther and Stephenson Industrial Estates.

“What are we doing about it ?”

  • Operation Craft has raised the profile of the hotspot areas with extra patrols deployed overnight to the identified areas.  Crime prevention advice has been provided to business owners to reduce the likelihood of becoming repeat victims.

“Keeping you informed”

  • The Neighbourhood Policing Team will keep the community updated through Partners and Communities Together (PACT) meetings. For more information on the meetings contact the team on 101 ext 69191.
